Wings & Feathers

Feathers are very symbolic, but then so are Wings!
To me, feathers mean freedom and joy!
Each feather I paint is created from observing a feather right in front of me so that I can accurately capture the light. I use the feathers I find when out walking my dogs each day. Those feathers surrounded me in my studio in the many Jars and Vases waiting to be used in my next artwork!
The Wings I have painted were an observation of wings in real life, these studies were so I could see how the feathers lay and in what pattern, whilst also observing the light and the myriad of colours brought to life when the light hit them in just the right way!
