This one of a Kind Artwork is painted onto a Vintage Wood Handled saw and inspired by the Morrigan – the shapeshifting Crow Goddess of Battle, death, and fierce Protection. I wanted to honour her as a symbol of wild power and deep connection between life, nature and mortality
The reverse of the saw has been carefully restored and sealed while the front holds and original painting of a Dark crow, watching over the world like a Guardian Spirit. I paint Crows as messengers from the natural world, they remind us to pay attention, to listen to the land and to remember that life is precious because it is fleeting.
Each Brushstroke is layered in Acrylics, allowing for deep Blacks, steel greys, and hints of iridescent colour to echo real feathers. The saw’s weathered metal becomes a part of the story – history, decay, beauty all in one object.
